The 2008 Gold Box Challenge was a hit!

The much anticipated 2008 Gold Box Restaurant Challenge took place in the Main Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Golf Resort & Spa, Ashmore from Sunday afternoon 10th August to Monday Evening 11th August.

For the second year in a row head Chef Daniel Ridgeway lead his team to victory.

Congratulations to the following restaurants:

  1. Room 81 - Sofitel
  2. Chill on Tedder
  3. Bellakai

Celebrity Chef Peter Howard and Channel 9's Paul "Fatty" Vautin hosted the evening and gave the audience an inside look at all the action taking place in the kitchens set up around the Ballroom.

Top Cut Meats and Oatley wines held the crown for gold sponsor and should be recognised for their ongoing support and commitment to the Event. The Challenge is to unfold in regions throughout Queensland and will take on Brisbane & Cairns in the early part of 2009.
